All Pakistani hockey players in the Hockey India League (HIL) will return home. The decision to send back the players comes in the wake of protests - by the Shiv Sena in Mumbai and by the Hindu Yuwak Sabha in Delhi - against their participation in HIL games. Meanwhile, in another instance of the tensions between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) spilling over to the sports arena, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has written to the International Cricket Council or ICC on concerns over security for the Pakistan cricket team in the women's World Cup beginning later this month in India.
