First Indian Marathon At Over 10,000 Feet
Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang... Located barely 25 kilometres from India's border with China, hosted India's first high altitude marathon at an altitude of over 10000 feet with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu khandu also participating in it. . The marathon has been organised by the state government with assistance from the Indian Army....around 2500 people are taking part as runners... This sports extravaganza is seen as India's strategy towards China that has claims over Tawang region where last year there was a stand off between India and China...
