Ravichandran Ashwin scored a gritty 70-run knock to help India recover from a tricky position on Day 4, before Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed took control in England's 2nd innings

Skipper Virat Kohli's wicket fell shortly after he inadvertently stepped into his leg stump.

England looked in control of the match at that stage, with Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha at the crease.

However, Ashwin partnered with Saha to stabilise the Indian innings.

Saha played a calm knock, and helped India cross the 400-run mark.

Saha was soon dismissed by Moeen Ali and India lost two more wickets after adding 34 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin completed his fifty and went for some big shots before India folded their innings at 488.

England openers Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed took to the pitch shortly and were immediately put under pressure by the Indian bowlers.

Both, however, played with maturity and took England to 114/0 at stumps on Day 4. Cook was unbeaten at 46 as the day ended.

Hameed completed his half-century and was unbeaten at 62 at the end of day's play.
