India vs England: Cold reception for players in Dharamsala, literally!

At 8:45 on Thursday evening, the Dharamshala temperature was shown as 1 Celsius in the minus. With Indian and England players already here for their match on Sunday, the weather god may show some mercy. The minimum temperature for the day is forecast to be a degree warmer - 0!

Questions about the logic behind scheduling the first-ever international match here under such cold conditions have been doing the round for some time now. Traditionally, England players are accustomed to cold but on Thursday night, even Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter to describe the weather. "My toes are going to fall off! Too cold???????? or too hot??????????? Google Dharamshala's temps & you'll see," he wrote.

A meteorological officer here was quoted by IANS as saying that sunny conditions are expected on Sunday when the two teams play and that the conditions would remain dry.
