World Twenty20: Netherlands stun England, win by 45 runs
March 31, 2014 18:09
A spirited Dutch side turned back the clock to 2009 and beat England in the World T20 to return home with their heads held high.

A spirited Netherlands side played out of their skins to upset England with a 45-run victory. This is the second time Netherlands beat England in World T20 (First time in 2009) (All images AP and AFP).

Defending a relatively low total of 133, Netherlands needed a good start. Mudassar Bukhari provided exactly that as he picked up two quick wickets.

After Bukhari sent back the openers, Logan van Beek (3/9) dismantled England's middle-order to put them in trouble.

It was Wesley Barresi's knock of 48 that helped Netherlands to a decent total after Stuart Broad's 3/24 had ruined their good start.
Zoom
Stephen Myburgh gave his side a good start as he and his opening partner Michael Swart raced away to 34 in less than four overs.

Stuart Broad (3/24) was the pick of the bowlers for his side but his efforts were in vain as England batting imploded during their run chase.
