Afghanistan produced a dominating display of power-hitting before Mujeeb Ur Rahman ripped apart Scotland's batting line-up.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman bagged a fifer as Afghanistan humbled Scotland by 130 runs in their first Super 12 match at the ongoing T20 World Cup in Sharjah. He took three wickets in his second over, dismissing Kyle Coetzer, Calum MacLeod and Richie Berrington. ( AFP )

Rashid Khan played second fiddle to Mujeeb in the bowling attack, claiming four wickets. He opened his account for the day by dismissing Michael Leask before dismissing Chris Greaves in the next over. He then got the final two wickets for Afghanistan and finished the game with figures of 4/9.

Hazratullah Zazai gave an excellent start to Afghanistan after Mohammed Nabi had opted to bat first. He and Ahmed Shahzad added 54 runs for the first wicket. The southpaw played some excellent shots but couldn't complete his half-century, falling short by six runs. ( AFP )
