Right then, West Indies have an opportunity here to get a much-needed win under their belt. New Zealand will be looking to take wickets early to build some pressure. We are in for an exciting second half to the game.

Akeal Hosein walks up for a quick word. He says he would have taken this bowling performance at the start of the day but feels he has given 7-8 runs more. Adds that he just tries to be clear and execute his plan. Shares that in the Powerplay they might get hit but he just thinks about the next ball. He continues to say that building partnerships will be the key for the Windies to win.

West Indies started this game completely contrary to their performance in the first two games. They bowled with great control and were really disciplined all innings. They built up the pressure and never let the New Zealand batters get going. Dominic Drakes has justified his selection in the team with an outstanding performance bowling at the start and towards the death. He ended up conceding just 19 runs in his 4 overs and taking a wicket. The spinners bowled well with Akeal Hosein picking up two crucial wickets and Hayden Walsh chipping in with one. Odean Smith was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets for 29 runs. They will now look to come out and perform with the bat.

New Zealand got off to a really watchful start and were looking to rotate the strike rather than go for boundaries. They seemed to be trying to analyze the wicket but the slow nature of the pitch never allowed them to get any sort of momentum. All the batters got off to starts but never look settled at the wicket. Glenn Phillips was the only one who showed any sort of intent in the game and scored 41 runs of 26 deliveries to keep the scoreboard moving. The strong middle order did not click and could not provide their team with a much-needed impetus towards the end of the innings. In the end, there were unable to cross the 150 mark.

!
This does not look like a hefty total with 145 on the board and New Zealand will definitely feel they are a few runs short here. However, the pitch seems to be a little slow and we may not be surprised if West Indies have a tough time getting runs too. This is a good opportunity for the Windies to seal a consolation win but New Zealand will know that their opponents have not been in good batting form.
