Wriddhiman Saha is adjudged the Man of the Match for his excellent batting. That's all we have from this match. But don't go anywhere as the second game between Mumbai and Kolkata will get underway shortly. See you then!!!
Outstanding chase by Punjab! They were after a massive total, in excess of 200, and they made it look like a tiny one. Wriddhiman Saha and Manan Vohra took Punjab to a rollicking start by adding 91 runs off just 41 balls and from there on Hyderabad never recovered. Glenn Maxwell once again was in belligerent form, cracking a 22-ball 43 and never let the required run-rate go out of their hands. Things got just a bit tight towards the end but George Bailey held his calm and amassed 22 runs off Steyn's last over to steer his side home safely.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to George Bailey
SIX! Bailey finishes it in style! Kumar serves a full ball on off, Bailey latches onto it and rockets it over long off for a maximum. This is now the second fastest successful run chase in excess off 200 in the history of Indian T20 League! PUNJAB WIN BY 6 WICKETS!
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to David Miller
Short ball outside off, Miller pulls it to mid-wicket for a single. Scores are leveled!
Slower full ball outside off, Bailey plays it with soft hands to short third man for a single.
Angles in a very full ball, Miller forces it back past the bowler to long off for a run.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back into the attack. 4 more needed for a win.
Dale Steyn to George Bailey
SIX! Bailey has taken Steyn to the cleaners! A fuller length ball on middle and leg, Bailey makes some room and smacks it over the bowler's head. 22 off the over!
FOUR! Full length ball outside off, Bailey goes inside-out and chips it over covers for yet another boundary. 10 needed off 13!
FOUR! Once again uses the pace of the bowler and steers a full length ball through point for a boundary. Finally getting into his groove, Bailey!
SIX! Steyn arrows in a full ball on leg, Bailey clears his front leg and just uses the pace of the ball to loft it cleanly over long on.
Dale Steyn to David Miller
Pitched up ball on middle and leg, Miller swung his bat across the line and edged it wide of short fine leg. They crossed for a single.
Direct hit would have consumed Bailey! But he is riding high on his luck at the moment. Pushes a full ball to extra cover and crosses for a risky single. Dhawan misses his shy at the non-striker's end.
Dale Steyn is back into the attack. 26 needed off 18!
Irfan Pathan to David Miller
Drills a full ball through covers for a couple.
Irfan Pathan to George Bailey
NOT OUT! Full and outside off, Bailey mistimes his shot over mid off and it goes in the air. Warner sprints from the deep, puts in a forward dive and takes the catch inches off the surface. He is claiming the catch but the umpires go upstairs. The replays show that it's dicey, touch and go, but it's not conclusive and the benefit of doubt is given to the batsman.
Bailey is caught at long off. Slight doubt over the catch and the umpires are checking it upstairs...
Pitched outside leg, Bailey tries to flick but misses. It goes off his pads to short third man, the bowler appeals and Bailey is out of the crease searching for a run. He is sent back by Miller but would have gone had the point fielder scored a direct hit at the striker's end.
Full and straight, Bailey pushes it back to the bowler.
Slants in a full ball on middle, Miller eases it through mid-wicket and crosses.
