Thisara Perera was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 80 which got Sri Lanka back in the game. He starts off saying that they were struggling after losing 8 wickets. Calls it was a gettable total, they came back well to bowl them out in the end after the hosts were 100-2. Calls it a team performance and thanks the crowd as well for supporting them.
Angelo Mathews - Credits Bangladesh for getting a good start, Thisara and Senanayake for batting well. Continues to say that catches are a part of the game so they need to take them to win the game. Confesses that they hung in well after the start for the hosts, calling it a good team performance. Adds they need to raise their games ahead to win the rest of the matches too.
Mushfiqur Rahim - Starts off saying that missing catches was not good. Credits Shamsur for playing well. Adds 180 was chaseable but they faltered with some silly run outs costing too. Continues, they lost the last T20I too due to not playing well during the big moments. Hopes that they come back really well with the next match coming up soon. Accepts that they need to be more consistent and dominate the entire duration and not patches.
Chasing a score of 181 runs, Bangladesh were off to a poor start losing Anamul Haque in the very first over but the other Haque, Mominul played an enterprising knock of 44 to add 79 runs with Shamsur Rahman to get the chase back on track. Rahman played a superb knock scoring a fifty but fell at the wrong time as Bangladesh yet again collapsed to hand Sri Lanka the win. Bangladesh won the toss earlier in the day and inserted Sri Lanka in after a delay of almost two hours due to a wet outfield. They got their plans right when they had the visitors 67/8. Perera however then lead a brilliant counter attack staying unbeaten on 80 as he and Senanayake added 82 runs to get them back into the match. The debutants Sunny and Al-Amin Hossain bowled really well for the hosts as they along with the rest of the bowlers restricted the Sri Lankans to 180.
Bangladesh yet again have managed to snatch defeat from victory. There is a pin drop silence in the crowd as the Sri Lankan players celebrate. What a turn around in the match, from being reduced to 67-8 to winning the match by 13 runs. Sri Lanka lead the three-match ODI series 1-0.
