Himanshu Sharma, a leg-spin bowler hailing from Sikar in Haryana, began his cricketing journey within his hometown. However, recognizing the need for a more serious pursuit of the sport, he made the pivotal decision to relocate to Jaipur. It was in 2017 that Himanshu embarked on his cricketing journey, without having played a single game of competitive cricket until his debut in the Indian T20 League.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru scouting team took notice of Himanshu's talent through their innovative Hinterland Scouting system, just a year before the 2023 Indian T20 League auction. Impressed by his potential, Himanshu was invited for trials by the Bengaluru franchise. Under the scrutiny of Malolan Rangarajan, the Head of Scouting and Fielding Coach, Himanshu's performance left a lasting impression.

In February 2023, Himanshu's journey reached a significant milestone as he was successfully acquired by Bengaluru during the auction for the Indian T20 League, marking the beginning of a promising chapter in his cricketing career. In the 2023 edition, Himanshu was designated as the Impact Player during the match against Gujarat. Despite his efforts, he remained wicketless during his 3-over spell. However, despite this performance, Bengaluru opted to retain Himanshu for the upcoming 2024 season. With this opportunity, Himanshu aims to play a more significant role and make a greater impact in the team's success.
