Netherlands vs England, 1st ODI Highlights: England smashed the world record to register the highest-ever ODI total of 498/4 before bowling the Netherlands out for 266 to register a 232-run thrashing in the first ODI in Amstelveen. England had previously held the record, having smashed 481 for six against Australia. The Three Lions now have the top-three highest scores in One-Day Internationals. Jos Buttler starred with a brilliant 162 off just 70 balls, while Dawid Malan and Phil Salt also scored their maiden ODI tons. Liam Livingstone then added some fireworks to England's innings, smashing the joint second-fastest fifty in ODI, off just 17 balls. Max O'Dowd and Scott Edwards then hit half-centuries for Netherlands, but it was always going to be a matter of reducing the margin of defeat for the hosts after England's batting performance. Moeen Ali took three wickets, while David Willey, Reece Topley and Sam Curran scalped two apiece. Dawid Malan added to his century with the final wicket of the match.

... THE RUN CHASE ...
-
!
We feel England have batted the Dutch out of this game! If Netherlands do chase this down, it is going to be one of the biggest surprises in the history of cricket. What will be interesting to see is their approach. Will they go for it or will they be content in batting out the 50 overs? England on the other hand will love to bowl their opposition out as quickly as possible. Stay tuned for the chase.

Have to feel sorry for Netherlands' bowlers. Not a lot you can do when the England batters were in that mood. Just the one bowler went for below 9 per over and that was Logan van Beek who was outstanding. The rest though would never want to look back at their figures in this game. Netherlands however, will be highly disappointed with their fielding. Had they taken the catches, England might have ended 30-40 short of what they scored. Overall though, it has been a forgetful day for the hosts so far.

Let me remind you, England got off to the worst possible start as they lost Jason Roy in the second over but after that, it was all England. Philip Salt, Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler all scored tons with incredible strike rates. First Malan and Salt put up a partnership of over 200 with both scoring tons. Salt fell but then Malan and Buttler continued the good work. Buttler came out all guns blazing. He was given a couple of chances earlier, which proved to be very costly. He smashed the bowlers all around and scored a ton at a strike rate of over 200. Malan fell but Liam Livingstone blasted his way to yet another fifty to take England extremely close to the 500-run mark. Liam Livingstone notched up his half-ton in just 17 balls and holds the record for the fastest half-ton by an England player.

OUTSTANDING! UNREAL! Just lost for words at the moment! What hitting! Crazy stuff from England! They have broken their own record of the highest ODI score in a game. Total carnage. They will be disappointed they did not cross the 500-run mark which seemed possible at one stage but they have missed that mark by just. Just brilliant!
