Nepal defeated Netherlands by six wickets in the fifth match of the ongoing Tri-Series, which also features Namibia. Asked to bowl first, Nepal bundled out Netherlands for 120 with Pratis GC scalping three wickets. Later, Nepal chased down the target in 15.2 overs with six wickets in hands. Apart from this low-scoring affair, a stunning fielding effort from Kushal Bhurtel to dismiss Vivan Kingma, grabbed everyone's attention. The incident took place in the 19th over of Netherlands' innings.
Roelof van der Merwe played a shot towards the long-on, on a full-toss delivery by Dipender Singh Airee. The shot looked like a comfortable six but Bhurtel showed his fielding prowess and jumped to stop the ball from going across the boundary line.
As the ball fell down, Bhrutel got up and threw it towards wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh, who found that Kingma was way out of the crease in search of a double. Aasif made no mistake and dislodged the stumps as Kingma got run out for 4.
With this dismissal, Netherlands' got bundled for 120 in 19.3 overs.
Coming to the match, Max ODowd was the highest run-scorer for Netherlands with 31 as no other batter was able to go past the 30-run mark.
For Nepal, skipper Rohit Paudel scored 46 while Gulsan Jha scored 38 as their side comfortably chased down the target in just 15.2 overs.
Currently, Netherlands are at the top of the points table with two victories in three matches while Nepal is at the second place with two wins in four matches.
