Right then, we are done with this match! Luckily, it was not called off after the rain gods made their appearance late in the first innings. Let's hope that the conditions improve from here as the second match of the day on this very ground is coming up shortly. Do join us at 1730 local (2130 GMT) (0300 IST, Aug 21) for the clash between Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs. See you then!
St Lucia Zouks' skipper, Daren Sammy says that they deserved to win given the way they pulled things back with the ball. Credits the bowlers as they responded whenever he called them to bowl. Admits with 47 needed off 5 overs, they were the favourites. Mentions that they bank on their batters to chase down the target and adds that they have a real all-round team with a variety of players. Admits they are not superstars but they are committed. Feels that they have to improve their bowling in Powerplay.
Barbados Tridents' skipper, Jason Holder says that it was one of those games where you don't know what will happen. Expresses his disappointment as the chase was reduced to 5 overs. Tells it was humid and they did not predict the rain. On the team's batting, Holder replies he loves the intent but wants his batsmen to string a few partnerships. On his chat with the umpire (after the first over of the chase), he says that they were initially told that there was one over of Powerplay but it turned out to be two and that affected their plans. He does not want to hold anyone guilty though.
For his all-round show, MOHAMMAD NABI IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH! Says that he likes these kinds of interviews as it is after winning the game for his side. Adds that everyone loves to play the shorter game in their side as they all are big hitters. Says that the given target on a pitch like this was ideal. Tells the rain was very heavy but the ground dried quickly. Admits they lost a close first game but they got over the line this time. On hitting Rashid, Nabi says that they play a lot with each other and he knows how he bowls.
It could have been a tricky chase but Cornwall fetching unattractive 13 runs in the first over eased off the pressure. Rashid Khan's first over was decent but in the next, his countryman, Mohammad Nabi smashed him for 10 runs in two balls to bring down the asking rate. After that, the formality was done by Andre Fletcher.
Mohammad Nabi's spell in the middle overs dried up the runs and created big pressure on the batsmen. Jason Holder did try to lift the scoring rate with his cameo but once he fell, there was a big collapse as Tridents slipped from 98/3 to 109/7. Daren Sammy utilized his spinners smartly and his proactive bowling changes also left a big impact. Just for the record, as many as 8 bowlers were used by the Zouks and Sammy didn't bowl a single over. After that, the rain gods intervened and the revised target was 47 runs for St Lucia Zouks.
It was an excellent bowling performance by St Lucia Zouks! They were under the cosh initially when Johnson Charles took their bowlers to the cleaners. With Tridents cruising in the first five overs, it appeared that they were in for a big total. But, the picture changed after that. Scott Kuggeleijn struck twice in two overs and that derailed Barbados' charge.
What a magnificent win for St Lucia Zouks. They have certainly punched above their weight by defeating the defending champions. This victory was set up by their bowling in the middle overs. The Zouks are off the mark in the points table and would be hoping to build on this win from here.

Raymon Reifer To Najibullah Zadran OUT!
OUT! Zadran is out of here! Reifer bangs in a short ball around off and it keeps rising onto the batsman as he gets ready for the pull shot. It appears he has got enough bat but it's not enough to clear the longer part of the ground. Jonathan Carter accepts an easy catch at deep square leg.

Rashid Khan To Andre Fletcher
Another flatter googly on middle, Fletcher tries hitting across the line but gets an inside edge. It goes to square leg and they cross. There is appeal for a run out as Cornwall is lazy in putting his bat inside the crease. The third umpire is troubled and the replays find Rahkeem just avoiding the embarrassment.
