That's it from us then. Was a superb game, wasn't it? The second and final T20I promises to be a close game as well so do join us again to catch all the action on 21st February at 1430 local, 1800 IST. Until then, goodbye. Cheers!
Man of the Match - Imran Tahir. He knew he was down and he wanted to bowl really well. He feels he's strong mentally as he has the backing of his coach and his teammates. He is glad as long as he's doing well for the team. He keeps working hard in the nets and he's ready to bowl anywhere, even in the Powerplay. He feels the reason behind his success is his planning, he sticks to his basics. He believes in himself and backs his skills. Adds this award is for his son.
Faf du Plessis, South African captain says they are out of the jail once again. He feels both the sides didn't play their best cricket. Adds they didn't start well but credits his bowlers. Says they messed it up in the end but he's lucky they had Chris Morris. He wants to have a solid base first up in the batting line-up. He says you always learn from your mistakes.
Eoin Morgan, England captain is upset with England's batting effort. Credits Ben Stokes and Chris Jordan for their effort. Adds the pitch slowed down as the game progressed and it was difficult to bat on. He thinks they've had a good run in T20Is recently and hopes they come back hard in the next game. He just wants his side to play more games as it will help them take more responsibilities.
South Africa never really got into a good position in their run chase as England were picking wickets at regular intervals. No South African batsman got going as they got out as soon as they got a start. Jordan was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed three wickets for 23 runs while Ali and Rashid created a lot of pressure and got two and one wicket respectively. Eventually, Chris Morris' 17 off just 7 balls was enough to stop England's unbeaten streak. The visitors didn't lose any T20I in their previous six games.
Phew! A last ball thriller, what else you need in a cricket match? So close, yet so far for England! You can say the game was in England's bag when South Africa needed 15 runs in the final over but Chris Morris had some other plans, once again. He helped his side get those runs and script a nail-biting contest.
