Right then! That is it from the coverage of this clash. The action continues on Saturday, 12th February 2022. It will be Islamabad United taking on Quetta Gladiators in game number 18 of the PSL 2022. The action will begin at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) but you can join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Shaheen Afridi, the skipper of Lahore Qalandars, says that he is enjoying captaincy. Mentions that they have been performing well. Tells that he expects Rashid Khan to take wickets and he always delivers for the team. Credits Rauf and Zaman for bowling well. Adds that no one drops a catch on purpose but he tries to encourage the players as he wants them to give their best. Ends by saying that they hope to carry forward this winning momentum.
Mohammad Rizwan, the skipper of Multan Sultans, says that they wanted to experiment a bit, and that's why they wanted to bowl first today, but the way Fakhar Zaman batted took the momentum away from them. Mentions that Lahore Qalandars played better cricket, and they stuck to their plans and also bowled better in the death overs.
Fakhar Zaman is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that he tries to play a longer innings. Mentions that if a batsman gets runs at the top of the order, it becomes easy for others. Tells that they believed in themselves that they could put breaks on Multan Sultans' winning streak. Adds that it feels good to play in front of the crowd. Says that it's a big win against a team like Sultans and they need to keep the momentum going.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Rashid Khan is down for a chat. He says that it was all about keeping the lengths tight and keeping it simple. Mentions that it is always hard to bowl the hat-trick ball. Says that there is more pressure on the bowler than the batsman. Tells that they have got this big win and they would look to continue this winning momentum. Adds that playing in front of the crowd gives them extra energy on the field and they hope to continue to put up a good show.
There is nothing that Lahore Qalandars could have done wrong in this match! Although they did drop a few catches, they did well not to let any of the drop catches prove to be costly. All the bowlers were right on cue! They did not let any batter settle down and picked up wickets at regular intervals. Zaman Khan grabbed three wickets while Rashid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf picked up two wickets each and demolished one of the best batting orders of the league. With this win, Lahore Qalandars climb further up and move to the second position in the points table. The side would be very thrilled to get a win in front of their home crowd.
With the likes of Rashid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf in the bowling attack, the chase for Multan Sultans was never going to be easy. No batters found their mojo in the middle. After losing Shan Masood early, Mohammad Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood tried to re-build the innings but they never found their rhythm in the middle and perished soon. Tim David and Khushdil Shah did smash a few big ones, but they too could not hold on till the end. Multan Sultans' win streak has been broken, but they still sit comfortably at the top of the table.
LAHORE QALANDARS HAVE BEATEN MULTAN SULTANS! Yes, you read that right! Multan Sultans have lost their first game of the PSL 2022! Scintillating stuff from Lahore Qalandars, after a loss in their previous game, they are back on the winning track. They have bowled out the side which was unbeaten, till now. A dominant performance by Shaheen Afridi and his men!

Shaheen Afridi To Blessing Muzarabani OUT!
OUT! CLEANED HIM UP! A spot-on yorker, on middle. Too good for Blessing Muzarabani who tries to dig it out but there's only little he can do.
