So that is it from the second game of this year's CPL! The action though continues on the 19th as Jamaica Tallawahs take on St Lucia Zouks followed by Guyana taking on Patriots. Do join us for all the live action. The first game begins at 1000 local (1400 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Riyad Emrit says they were in good positions a lot of times but let them get away with it. He feels they scored 20 runs more than they should have. They conceded a few extra runs towards the last overs and chasing 150 on a tricky wicket is not easy. Adds Allen was missed and probably the result would have been different if he was there. Ends by saying, there is a lot to improve on, they need to learn quickly as to what length they need to bowl and they need to read the wicket quickly.
Jason Holder says it is an important win, they wanted to start well and they have done that. Further adds it was a strange game, they lost wickets at regular intervals but the partnerships at the end was very good and credits Rashid and Santner to get them to a competitive total. Mentions the pitch was a touch slow and the pacers had it easier than the seamers but their spinners showed a lot of quality and bowled well. Ends by saying, their batting has always been inconsistent but they need to fire and he hopes they can do well in the upcoming games.
Man of the Match, Mitchell Santner says they bowled well up front, they went really hard with the bat at the start but they did well to get to 150. Mentions they thought it was competitive total, the wicket was a touch slow and Jason Holder started off well. Further adds it was not easy to grip the ball as it was wet but they did a very good job collectively.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bowl, the Patriots did a fine job with the ball courtesy Cottrell, Emrit and Tanvir. They would have been happy at the halfway mark when they kept Tridents to something just above 150. The defending champions though proved why they were the winners last year by defending a total which at one stage seemed under par.
So the defending champions have started this campaign off with a win! A hard-fought win to be honest! There were times in this innings where they were behind the 8-ball game but they did not lose hope, won the crunch moments and in the end came out on top. Defending a moderate total, they needed early wickets and they got both the openers quickly. Dunk and da Silva then got the chase back on track but Dunk gifted his wicket away. Ramdin then came in and played cleverly. They seemed in control till the 18th over but Rashid's final over completely changed the game. Two wickets and just the three runs saw the Patriots needing 14 per over in the last two which they could not score.

Rashid Khan To Jahmar Hamilton OUT!
OUT! KABOOM! Two-in-two for Rashid. Once again the brilliant leggie has delivered when his team needed him to. We did mention this is going to be a crucial over and Rashid has picked two and put his team right on top. A golden duck for Hamilton. He does not pick the googly. It lands on off and then turns back in. Hamilton plays all around it. He misses and it hits the off pole. On a hat-trick is Rashid.

Rashid Khan To Denesh Ramdin OUT!
OUT! TAKEN! What a catch that is! WOW! Just wow! He dropped a straightforward catch earlier but this is a rippa. Ramdin can't believe it. He surely must have thought he has got a boundary there when he struck it. He brings out the slog sweep. Hits it nice and flat to the right of deep mid-wicket. It seems in the gap but Walsh runs to his right, dives and takes it with two hands. First wicket for Rashid and at an important time.
