That brings us to the end of the coverage of this game. It was Australia all the way today and they will be jubilant having regained the Chappell-Hadlee trophy. Despite having lost the series, New Zealand will look to end the tour on a high in the final ODI and avoid a whitewash. The third match will be played at the MCG on 9th December at 0850 IST. Do join us for that contest. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
VICTORIOUS AUSSIE SKIPPER STEVEN SMITH says it was a top performance from his team. Credits Warner, Marsh and Head for their knocks which helped Australia post a total of 380 on the board. Adds that it's a high-scoring ground and is pleased with the efforts from his boys. On the bowling, he says Cummins came back well from the last game and hopes he continues in this way. Ends by hoping they can put up another good show at the MCG in the final ODI.
NEW ZEALAND SKIPPER, KANE WILLIAMSON starts by crediting the home side for the way they have outclassed them today. Adds they gave it their all for a period of time but Australia were too good on this surface. Further says he along with Neesham tried hard but failed to do the job. On Neesham's injury, Williamson replies that he should be fine. Praises this Australian side and accepts they are best in the world when they play at home. Ends up saying they have a lot to learn from this series and admits that they need to pull up their socks, both with bat and ball, especially in the death overs.
MAN OF THE MATCH, DAVID WARNER is really delighted with the award. Adds they knew if they had wickets in hand, they can set a good score. Praises Marsh for providing the finishing touch towards the end. Blames himself for throwing it away in the last game. Further says he loves batting with his skipper Smith and it works well for the team. On his 6 tons in this year, he says he thought this isn't the format he is good at but it is certainly turning out to be so (smiles).
Pat Cummins was the best of the lot picking up a 4-fer and giving away 41 runs in his 10 overs while Starc and Hazlewood kept things tight. Another good thing for the Aussies was Travis Head who was explosive with the bat and also got the job done with the ball by being tidy. Earlier in the day, Australia were asked to bat first under overcast conditions and Warner came to the fore with a sumptuous ton. Smith then continued his good run while Head and Marsh went berserk to post a mammoth total (second highest at the Manuka Oval).
Once the 125-run stand between Neesham and Williamson was broken, it was all over for the Kiwis. Williamson playing his 100th ODI tried his best but he was only delaying the inevitable. The middle and lower middle order smashed a few here and there but eventually they were bundled for 262. For Australia, all their bowlers were bang on except for Faulkner who went for aplenty but will be happy to at least show something in the wickets column.
The Chappell-Hadlee trophy has been reclaimed by the Aussies. They were absolutely ruthless in the last game and were no less even today. To be honest, the chase was never really on and as a result, the Kiwis suffered yet another drubbing. Chasing a mammoth target, Guptill once again was in belligerent form but couldn't convert this into a big one. Williamson and Neesham then got together but threaded a partnership which was on the slower side.

James Faulkner To Bradley Watling OUT!
OUT! That's all over for the Kiwis! AUSTRALIA WIN BY A MASSIVE 116 RUNS AND TAKE THE SERIES! James Faulkner keeps it full on the stumps, Watling gets down on one knee to slog it across the line but gets a top edge towards covers. Warner moves back, judges the ball well and then settles underneath it. And the customary handshakes follow.

Pat Cummins To Matt Henry OUT!
OUT! Pat gets the better of Matt this time! Starc in the previous over tried his best to do that, but Cummins removes him on the very first ball of this over. Good length delivery on middle, Henry goes for the pull but has no power in it. Faulkner at deep mid-wicket takes a good catch moving to his left. END IS NIGH FOR THE KIWIS!
