That is it from the coverage of this game! We have another double-header coming up on 7th December 2021. Dhananjaya de Silva, the skipper of Colombo Stars is the Player of the Match. He says that it was tough from the beginning. Adds that it was decided that he will start with the ball and feels that everyone bowled well and chipped in at crucial times. Tells that they have to get their combination right going forward and also informs that Angelo Mathews would be back for the next game.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa, the skipper of Galle Gladiators, says that they aimed for a target of 140+ but they didn't get the start they wanted and fell 20 odd runs short. Mentions that he is very proud of his bowlers and credits Noor Ahmed for his bowling. Tells that it is always good to learn from the mistakes and will come back strongly in the next match.

Galle Gladiators would be pleased with their bowling effort as they gave it their all and did not allow the Colombo Stars to run away with the game early on, especially in the Powerplay. Their spinners were brilliant yet again and it was Mohammad Hafeez who once again led from the front. All the bowlers were very economical, apart from Nuwan Thushara and they hardly gave away any freebies to Stars' batters. Bhanuka Rajapaksa would be disappointed with this loss but he will be proud of the fight his boys have shown in the field.
Colombo Starts did not get off to a great start as they lost their openers cheaply and were put under pressure right at the start. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and it was their skipper Dhananjaya de Silva who steadied the ship along with Dinesh Chandimal. Once the skipper perished, it was their experienced campaigner, David Wiese who took the attack to the opposition and hit a few lusty blows before getting out. In the end, it was Dinesh Chandimal who kept his calm and managed to take his team over the line.
It wasn't the most convincing of chases but Colombo Stars get a win under their belt nonetheless. They needed just 117 runs to win from 20 overs but they were made to work hard for it. Galle Gladiators' bowlers should be mighty proud with their effort as they were able to make a match out of it.
