Dasun Shanaka, the victorious skipper of Dambulla Giants, says it was very tough and credits Chamika Karunaratne for the final over. Mentions, he thought a spinner will end the game but in the end, thought Chamika would do wonders with his slow balls and that worked out. Adds, he will give a couple of players some chance and work out some combinations out before the play-offs.
Dhananjaya de Silva, the skipper of Colombo Stars says that it was an amazing fight by the boys. Mentions that the team has started to click now. Tells that the wickets are falling at regular intervals and that has to stop. Adds that the top order has to start getting some runs.
Tharindu Ratnayake wins the man of the match award for his exceptional spell with the ball. He says, he is really happy about his performance. Mentions, he missed a couple of chances and the pressure came to him but he overcame it.

Utmost respect to Dinesh Chandimal. Colombo Stars were never into this game until Chandimal came out to bat. Other than him, only Dhananjaya de Silva showed some fight but he too perished away. Dinesh Chandimal had a big task ahead of him and he singlehandedly took them almost over the line, almost because they lost by just one run. Colombo Stars failed to read the spins. They were 38/4 as no one managed to play the opposition. Chandimal was the last hope for the Stars and he fought extremely hard but they came out second best.
Spinners did the job for Dambulla Giants. It was turning sharply and the Giants bowled in probing lines and lengths. Imran Tahir was running all over the ground while Tharindu Ratnayake showed his skills. Both combined to take five wickets and sent half of the side back to the pavilion. It did not stop as Ramesh Mendis continued the process. Hiccups started in the dugout of Dambulla Giants while Dinesh Chandimal was batting and it needed some nerves from Dasun Shanaka to hand the ball to Karunaratne. In the end, he did the job he was asked with some cold nerves.
And breathe folks!! What a game, it was tilting after every ball. It went till the last ball and Dambulla Giants came out victorious. You gotta feel for Dinesh Chandimal for how hard he fought. He was just yards away to clear the fence but credit to Chamika Karunaratne to keep his nerve and bowl the final over. Applause and hugs to Chandimal from the opposition for his fight.
