Mahmudul Hasan Joy is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that it was a pretty good wicket to bat on and he wanted to bat long. He says that they had a long batting lineup and the coach told him to bat deep. He says that the partnership between him and Moeen Ali was the turning point and they were confident of chasing the total down.
Ravi Bopara, the skipper of Sylhet Sunrisers says that the last 10 overs were not great and it was not easy for the new batters to come out and bat and he gives credit to the oppositions, by saying that they had bowlers like Sunil Narine and Mustafizur Rahman to bowl in the death overs which made it difficult for them. Adds that Alauddin Babu was excellent and he has been good in the previous games as well, but he says unfortunately they do not have a lot of experience at the death in their bowling.

Sylhet Sunrisers badly needed a win here and they gave it their all till the end. They got off to a dream start with two big wickets early. They bowled brilliantly in the middle phase too as the required rate kept climbing up. However, they were put under the sword in the last few overs with 60 needed to win from 30 balls. Bopara gave away 20 runs in the 16th over and the momentum shifted after that. Nazmul Islam and Alauddin Babu with their brilliant bowling kept them in the game but the quality in the ranks of Comilla meant that they ended on the right side of the result much to the frustration of Sylhet Sunrisers.
Comilla Victorians must be feeling quite confident coming into this chase with the quality in their ranks. However, Liton Das and Faf du Plessis went early but Moeen Ali and Mahmudul Hasan Joy steadied the innings with their cautious partnership. The plan was clear from them, they wanted to take the game deep. Moeen Ali departed while trying to up the ante but the skipper, Kayes came out with intent and Bopara was carted for 20 runs in the 16th over. However, Kayes departed in the very next over but Joy and Narine carried on the momentum and just when the chase was looking done and dusted, Comilla lost two wickets in successive deliveries. Fortunately for them, Narine was still there and he finished things off in his typically calm way in a rather tense chase.
Another cliffhanger! But Sylhet Sunrisers have failed to close out the game again. They tried hard but Comilla Victorians have managed to get the better of them and are on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs now. A very entertaining and close contest and Sylhet Sunrisers, though finished on the losing side, will be proud of their effort.
