Still a lot of positives for the young players that we have within the side. 2-0 would have been really nice, still managed 1-1, proud of the boys. The way the bowlers bowled in the series and the way Aiden batted in the second innings is something out of the world. (On the pitch) It was a bit of a ripper. The Indian bowlers will aim to restrict South Africa at the earliest.
- 13:26 (IST)IND vs SA Live Score: Here's what Jasprit Bumrah said before the gameWe have to create pressure, you don't necessarily need to bowl magic deliveries now and then. You just have to do the basic things tight again and again. We were very happy that we were able to do that in this game. I started from the other end, but we realised that there was little more help, unevenness and seam movement from the Wynberg end. Other end, there's not too much help. Still there's a lot of work to be done, I made my Test debut (here), so this ground will always be special in my heart. Since then, it's been a good journey. If we do our things right, the result will be in our favour.
- 13:17 (IST)IND vs SA Live Score: Pitch reportYou don't want these kinds of conditions. If you bowl a full delivery, it's fine. If you bowl a short delivery, it's fine. But it's all happening from a quality length and there's nothing you can do as a batter when it hits that area and stands up steeply which we saw on happen countless occasions. Was it a 55 wicket? No. Certainly wasn't a 250-300 wicket. These types of pitches are dangerous for batters' physical health. Spinning pitches are dangerous to batters' reputation. It's not very easy for batters to play, little of the skill involved. It has to be an even covering of grass. Little bit of grass here, bare patches there.
- 12:57 (IST)IND vs SA Live Score: All eyes on SirajAfter the marvelous six-wicket haul on Day 1, pacer Mohammed Siraj will look to repeat his heroics on the second day. Apart from him, Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar were also really impressive with the ball as they scalped three and four wickets respectively.
- 12:49 (IST)IND vs SA Live Score: Ashwell Prince on Cape Town pitch"I've never seen the pitch that quick on day one. As a batsman you don't mind pace in the wicket if the bounce is consistent but the bounce was a little bit inconsistent. You expect a bit of seam movement on day one but seam movement with inconsistent bounce is a different situation. Sometimes it happens that a great bowling line-up bowls out a team cheaply but if both batting line-ups can't bat there's something wrong," said South African batting consultant Ashwell Prince.
- 12:45 (IST)IND vs SA Live Score: Siraj on Cape Town's pitch"When I saw the wicket in morning, it didn't feel it was a 55-all out wicket. It was quite sunny, so I didn't expect the pitch to assist that much. Also, bowling is all about partnerships. There was consistent pressure from Jasprit Bumrah at the other end. He didn't get many wickets but he created a lot of pressure," said Siraj in the press conference.
