The controversy ridden Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), which got last minute nod to host the World Twenty20 matches at the Feroz Shah Kotla, has assured that the stadium will be fully ready by Sunday for the showpiece event. "Preparations are on in full swing. There is no major challenge as such. The lighting and painting work is going on. We have also got the NOC from entertainment department of Delhi Government for the sale of tickets," DDCA working president Chetan Chauhan said.
Kotla will host four matches of the World Twenty20 including the first semifinal besides the six games of simultaneously held Women's World Twenty20.
Earlier in the week, the DDCA got Delhi High Court's nod to organise World T20 matches under the supervision of Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal, whose intervention has helped resolving several contentious issues plaguing the cricket body.
Chauhan also revealed that the seating capacity will be reduced by 2000 though the sale of corporate boxes will take place as usual.
"The capacity will be reduced by 2000 so it will be about 39000 now," he added.
