Berlin:  Brazilian defensive midfielder Franca signed for Bundesliga side Hanover 96 from Coritiba on Sunday on a three-year contract.

The 21-year-old, who had been sent out on loan to Brazilian second tier side Criciuma, is the third new arrival at Hanover, who are presently 11th in the table 11 points above the relegation places, during the winter transfer window.

"I have had excellent experiences with South American players and appreciate their commitment and enthusiasm," said Hanover coach Mirko Slomka.

Franca joins Swiss international defender Johan Djourou, loaned from English Premier League side Arsenal, and another defensive midfielder Andre Hoffmann, who was signed from second division Duisburg, as the new faces at the club.
