Pakistan vs Australia T20I Statistical Highlights: David Warner Erases Watson's Record of Fifties

Although Glenn Maxwell put in a Man-of-the-Match performance picking up three early wickets to put Pakistan on the back foot, it was Warner's power hitting that stole the show. Warner recorded his 11th fifty in T20Is. It was his second against Pakistan.

Warner's tally of 11 fifties is an Australian record in T20Is, bettering Shane Watson's tally of 10. Warner's aggregate of 1444 (average 29.46) in 52 matches is an Australian record in T20Is. Warner took his sixes' tally to 66, emulating an Australian record, held by Shane Watson.

The match saw Cameron Boyce, Phil Hughes, Sean Abbott and Kane Richardson all make their T20 International debuts for Australia. Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat with the home side only managing to post 96 runs in their 20 overs. Boyce had a debut to remember nabbing two wickets for 10 runs in his four overs.

Australia have won five and lost seven out of 13 played against Pakistan in T20s (lost the tied game as well in the one-over eliminator at Dubai (DSC) on September 7, 2012). The match-aggregate of 179 for 13 is the lowest between the two countries in T20Is.
