1st Time In 56 Years: India Scripts History At Paris Paralympics

Having already crushed the record of most medals in a Paralympic Games to date, now the contingent has gone one better.

India has now claimed six gold medals, the most by the country in any edition of the Paralympics.

High jumper Praveen Kumar won India's 6th gold medal of Paralympics 2024 in the Men's T64 Final.

Shooter Avani Lekhara, javelin thrower Sumit Antil, archer Harvinder Singh, badminton star Nitesh Kumar and club thrower Dharambir Nain have also won golds.

The previous best was in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where India won five gold medals.
