It looks like India are going to win 4 medals combined in javelin throw and high jump. That will take their medals tally to 20 - the best ever in Paralympics.

Ajeet Singh takes the silver medal spot with a throw of 65.62 in javelin! India continue to maintain their 2-3 position. In high jump, Mariyappan Thangavelu and Shailesh Kumar are out of contention for gold.

Sundar Singh Gurjar with an attempt of 64.96m but he remains second. India currently in silver and bronze spots in men's javelin throw.

Sharad Kumar has done it! He has equalled the Paralympic record and he is now in the top spot in high jump. What a performance!

Mariyappan Thangavelu fails in his first attempt for 1.88m in high jump. On the other hand, three Indians continue their quest for gold in javelin throw.

Ajeet Singh remains third with 62.33m while Rinku has improved and he takes the fourth spot with an attempt of 60.58m. In High Jump, Mariyappan Thangavelu takes the lead with 1.85m.

Mariyappan Thangavelu, Shailesh Kumar and Sharad Kumar all clear 1.81m easily as India remain in fray for all three high jump medals.

Sundar Singh Gurjar in the silver medal spot with a throw of 62.92m while Ajeet consolidated his third place with a second attempt of 60.53m.

Rinku completes his first attempt in the men's javelin final and it is 57.34m.

The men's javelin final is underway and Ajeet Singh starts with an attempt of 59.80m.

Sharad Kumar takes top spot with a jump of 1.81m.

Shailesh Kumar achieves the 1.77m jump as well and all three Indians are on top at the moment.

Mariyappan Thangavelu also achieves the 1.77m jump and all Indian athletes look in excellent form.

The men's high jump final begins and India have a chance to win all the three medals. Mariyappan Thangavelu, Shailesh Kumar and Sharad Kumar are in action and this is going to be interesting.

India's world champion Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze medal in the women's 400m T20 category race, clocking 55.82 seconds. Deepthi, who turns 21 later this month, finished behind Yuliia Shuliar (55.16 seconds) of Ukraine and world record holder Aysel Onder (55.23) of Turkey. T20 category is meant for athletes with intellectual impairment.

Bronze medal for Deepthi Jeevanji! She performed quite well but could not clinch the gold. World record holder Aysel Onder clinched the silver medal.

Next up for India is Deepthi Jeevanji who will be aiming to win the goal in Women's 400m T20 final. Aysel Onder broke her world record yesterday and today will surely see a massive fight for the top prize.

Pooja crashes out of the archery quarterfinal after losing to China's Chunyan Wu. She had a 4-0 lead but she just could not maintain the same standard and this will surely be heartbreaking.

Pooja loses second set in a row and this match is going to the decider. What a comeback by China's Chunyan Wu.

Pooja was a perfect shot away from booking a semifinal berth but China's Chunyan Wu wins the third round and it 4-2 in favour of Pooja right now.

Pooja with a 10 in her final shot to take a 4-0 lead! This is excellent from the Indian archer and a semifinal spot is just round the corner.

Pooja is in action during the women's individual recurve archery quarterfinal and she has taken a lead in the first series against China's Chunyan Wu.

Pooja Jatyan will be in action next. She dominated her archery pre-quarter and will be up against China's Chunyan Wu in the last 8 stage, who has won bronze and silver in Tokyo and Rio Paralympics respectively.

Avani Lekhara missed out on a second medal at the ongoing Paralympic Games and finished fifth after putting up a strong fight in the final of the women's 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 competition. The 22-year-old Avani, paralysed waist-down owing to a car accident she suffered as an 11-year-old, shot a total of 420.6 across the three stages of kneeling, prone and standing in a world-class eight-woman field. She led the final briefly but slipped to sixth place at the end of the prone stage, which is not her strong area as it causes her problems owing to positioning. 

That is the end of the road for Avani Lakhara as she finishes fifth in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions final with 420.6 points.

Two shooters are eliminated while Avani Lekhara is currently fifth with 400.7 points after second round of the standing position.

Avani continues to languish in the sixth spot as she scores 48.8 in the first series of the standing position. 

Final round of the final and Avani Lekhara will have to come up with something special to climb up in the standings.

End of the prone position. 301.5 at the end of the three series and Avani Lekhara is in the sixth spot. Not a great position for the Indian para-athlete. The dream of a medal is fading away quite fast.

Avani in a spot of bother as she fell to the sixth position after the second series of prone position. Just 49.9 points in that series and it is not looking good for her at all!

50.6 for Avani in the first series of the prone position and her total points go out up to 201.5. However, she will not be very happy as he is down to the third spot.

Avani has 150.9 points at the end of the kneeling round and she is currently second. Not much between her and the Chinese shooter in the gold medal spot. Time for the prone position!

100 points after two series and Avani will not be happy. Just 48.9 in the second series and she finds herself in the fifth position as of now.

First up is the kneeling round and at the end of the first series, Avani Lekhara is joint top with 51.1 points. Three leaders as of now but Avani has started brilliantly.

The shooters are here for the final and it is sighting time. They are getting accustomed to the conditions and firing practice shots. We are minutes away from the start.

Time for the Women's 50m rifle 3 positions final and Avani Lekhara will be carrying a billion hopes. She has already won a gold medal in the Paris Paralympics and she will be looking for another historic gold medal.

We are less than half an hour away from the start of the Women's 50m rifle 3 positions final, where Avani Lekhara will take part.

She will hope to get a second medal at Paralympics 2024.

Deepthi Jeevanji, who holds the second-fastest time in her category, has a serious chance to bring home at least a medal in the women's 400m T20 final, if not a shiny gold itself.

After winning gold with Sumit Antil, India have the chance to script even more history in javelin. Three more contenders will vye for a javelin medal in the T46 final tonight.

Pooja Jatyan returns to action at 9:20 PM. She dominated her archery pre-quarter, but faces a massive challenge in the quarter-final.

Pooja will be up against China's Chunyan Wu in the last 8 stage, who has won bronze and silver in Tokyo and Rio Paralympics respectively.

It wasn't the most convincing qualification for Avani, as she spent of the qualifying round in 7th or 8th spot. However, having won a bronze in the 50m rifle 3 positions category in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, she has medal-winning pedigree in this field too.

India are currently 15th in the Paralympics 2024 medal tally, with 3 golds, 5 silvers and 7 bronzes. They are yet to win a medal today.

All athletes complete their throws, as India's Bhagyashri Jadhav finishes 5th with a best throw of 7.28. China, Poland and Morocco take the top three spots respectively.

Pooja Jatyan is set to compete in the archery women's individual recurve open quarter-final at around 8:30 PM IST. After a dominant win in the pre-quarter, Pooja will be hopeful to making it into a medal match.

Avani Lekhara will gun for another medal today evening. Her women's 50m rifle 3 positions final event begins at 7:30 PM IST. 

Bhagyashree Jadhav has now dropped to fifth in the women's shot put F34 final. 

Avani Lekhara, with one gold in her bag, will have the chance to fight for another. She qualifies to the women's 50m 3 positions final event, after finishing 7th in the qualification round.

Avani Lekhara has completed her standing series of shots. She is provisionally 7th, with an average of 9.658. If it stays this way, she will make the women's 50m 3 positions final.

Bhagyashree Jadhav will not be winning a medal in the women's shot put F34 final. Poland's Lucyna Kornobys goes into 2nd place with a throw of 8.33m, and pushes Bhagyashree to fourth.

Mona Agarwal has completed all her shots in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions qualification round. She finishes with an average of 9.558 and is currently 13th, and bows out.

Mona will not qualify for the final, as there are already 8 shooters above her who have completed their set and scored higher.

Back to shot put action, China's Lijuan Zou is looking very good for gold now. She has put up a best throw of 9.14m, only 0.05m less than her own Paralympics record from three years ago.

Bhagyashree in third position.

Avani continues to maintain her position in the top 8 of the women's 50m rifle 3 positions qualifying. She is just over halfway through her final series of shots. 

Mona Agarwal is likely to miss out on the final, currently in 14th.

Pooja arrows into the quarters. She wins the first three series, and it's a dominant win in the Round of 16 of the women's individual recurve open.

Pooja Jatyan is in action in the Women's Individual recurve open pre-quarter. She has soared into a 6-0 lead over Turkey's Yagmul Sengul, and is set to book her spot in the quarters.

China's Lijuan Zou, who holds both the Paralympics and world record, has soared to the top with a throw of 8.95m, pushing Bhagyashree down to the bronze medal spot in the women's shot put F34 final.

Can she hang on? There are 5 more athletes to go.

Avani Lekhara is hanging on to a top 8 qualification spot at the moment. She has started her standing series of shots in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions event.

Bhagyashree Jadhav throws 7.28m with her final throw in the women's shot put F34 final! A good effort and she is in medal contention at the moment.

Bhagyashree is four throws in, and has put up a best of 7.23m. She is provisionally in second spot.

Mona Agarwal is the first of the two Indians to start her standing series in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions qualifying. She needs a mighty series if she wants to qualify, as she's currently in 15th.

Bhagyashree's personal best is the same as Amoudi's best today, 7.80m. The Paralympics record and world record is held by China's Lijuan Zou, will throw next. Her bests are over 9m.

Morocco's Saida Amoudi leaps to the top provisionally with a best throw of 7.80m with her last throw in the women's shot put F34 final.

Now, it's Bhagyashree's turn!

Back to the shot put F34 final, Australia's Dayna Crees is the first to complete her six throws. She sets a personal best of 6.30m. Morocco's Saida Amoudi is up next, after which it will be Bhagyashree's turn.

Remember, shot putters throw all six at once.

Avani Lekhara is still in 8th and Mona Agarwal in 15th after the end of their respective prone series shots. Lekhara is hanging on to the last qualification spot, but Mona will need a massive last series.

Next, it will be the standing series of shots, which is the final series.

One of India's flagbearers in the Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony, Bhagyashree Jadhav is now in action in the women's shot put F34 final. She will go third among the nine finalists.

Avani Lekhara has completed her prone series. She is in 8th, the last spot that qualifies for the final. She scores 390 in this set, 2 points better than her kneeling score.

Mona Agarwal is yet to complete her prone series, but she is 15th out of 16 qualifiers and heading out as it stands.

Mona has also begun her prone series. Avani has completed her first set of shots, and is back inside the top 8.

Avani Lekhara has started her prone series. Mona is yet to begin. Avani currently just outside the top 8 needed for qualification.

As it stands, Avani Lekhara is just inside the top 8 after the kneeling round, whilst Mona Agarwal is fairly lower in 13th. There is a difference of 7 points between the two.

Next up is the prone position series. This will include another 40 shots.

Avani has completed the first part of the qualifying set, the kneeling series. She reaches 388 points, and is provisionally in sixth place. Mona Agarwal is outside the top 8.

Brilliant first couple of series from Avani Lekhara. She ends the second series in kneeling with eight 10s and a total score of 194 at present. She is placed 5th. Mona Agarwal on a score of 190 after Series 1 and Series 2.

India's campaign begins on Day 6 with women's 50m rifle 3P SH1 qualification. Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal are the Indians in action. The event starts with Kneeling round. Remember, the top 8 from the qualifier go through to the final.

India's first medal event on the day would come in the form of Women's shot put F34 where Bhagyashree Jadhav will be in action. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:28 PM IST.

Avani Lekhara earlier made history for India as she secured her second gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She achieved this feat by successfully defending her women's 10m air rifle crown in the shooting standing SH1 event. Lekhara is the only Indian woman to win two gold medals (in two different events) in the history of the Paralympic Games.
