West Indies' skipper Dwayne Bravo won the toss and opted to bat under humid conditions.

The start for the tourists was not great as West Indies lost Chris Gayle off the second delivery.
The aggressive batsman looked to steal a single but was caught short. He even pulled a hamstring and had to be carried off the field.

West Indies tried to negotiate Indian seam attack but were largely unable to make India sweat.

Once skipper MS Dhoni brought spin in, West Indies collapsed in a rush.
Ravindra Jadeja was one of the main bowlers responsible for wrecking havoc.

Jadeja took this brilliant catch to dismiss opener Johnson Charles who was playing relatively well till this happened.
He scored 42 before becoming one of Jadeja's three victims.

Dhoni also brought in Suresh Raina to bowl before regular spinner R Ashwin. It was a move which paid his side rich dividends as Raina too helped himself to three wickets to help the hosts bowl West Indies out on 211 inside 49 overs.

In reply, India lost Shikhar Dhawan early but the other opener in Rohit Sharma (left) kept the West Indies' bowlers at bay.

Rohit (72) had the company of Virat Kohli (right) and the two put on 133 runs for the second wicket.

Once Rohit fell, Virat took over and his 86 ensured that India sealed the match with over 14 overs left.
Virat also completed 5000 ODI runs, equalling Viv Richards' record of fastest batsman to the mark (114 innings).
