India vs South Africa, Day 3: Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane Give Hosts Ascendancy

An unbeaten 133 runs stand for the fifth wicket between Ajinkya Rahane and skipper Virat Kohli has given India the upper-hand on Day Three of the fourth and final Test at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwarhwar Pujara then stabilised the innings after the early jolts. The duo put on a 45 runs stand, which helped India cross the 250-run lead.

Shikhar Dhawan got into a sort of a verbal spat with substitute fielder KL Rahul. Apparently there was some mis-communication of sorts between the two. Dhawan was however, seen apologising for his outburst.

Imran Tahir had a golden opportunity to remove Virat Kohli when he was on five. The umpire Bruce Oxenford had even given the decision in legspinners favour. However, Oxenford wanted to be sure about the no-ball and asked for a review. The replays indicated that the bowler had over-stepped thereby saving Kohli.

Virat Kohli and Ajiknya Rahane played sensibly as the duo stitched an unbeaten 133 runs stand which saw India cross the 400-run lead.

Ajinkya Rahane too scored his half-century in the process to ensure India take a big lead against the Proteas. The Mumbaiker reached the landmark with a brace off Kyle Abbot in 146 balls with five boundaries.
