# Dhoni had recorded two fifties in the 2007 Test series - 92 at The Oval and 76 not out at Lord's.
# Dhoni's fifth fifty against England is his 22nd in Tests.
# Dhoni has registered eleven fifties each at home and away from home.
# Dhoni has become the first Indian captain to post a fifty at Edgbaston, outstripping Nawab of Pataudi's 47 in 1967.
# Dhoni is the first Indian skipper to hit three sixes in a Test innings at Edgbaston, eclipsing Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan's two during his innings of 28 off 46 balls in 1979.
# Praveen Kumar (26) has recorded his career-best score, bettering the 25 off 25 balls against England at Trent Bridge in the present series.
# Dhoni and Praveen Kumar were associated in an eighth wicket partnership of 84 - India's highest at Edgbaston, bettering the 68 between Roger Binny and Kiran More in July 1986.
