... THE RUN CHASE ...

!
Well then, 65 is the target for India Women Under-19 to chase. And to be very fair, their batting lineup hasn't been tested enough in this competition so far and that's where Bangladesh could fancy their chances. The surface is slow and the ball is still getting that turn. If they manage to snag a quick few early wickets, this contest can get tight. Or will India come out all guns blazing and get their fourth win on the bounce? Stick with us as the all-important chase is up next in a few minutes.

Sanika Chalke is up for a quick chat. She says that it was a overall good experience in the field and the bowlers have done a fantastic job for the side. She further talks about her drop catch and says that it was heartbreaking to see that happening, but the team managed to get out of it very soon and it worked out well in the end. She finally says that the target is well within their reach and she believes that they will chase it down.

The scoring, however, was at a snail's pace, and in order to go a bit aggressive, Maoua persihed as Vaishnavi Sharma broke that 31-run stand for the sixth wicket. This opened up the floodgates for India as they sneaked in with a couple of quick wickets again, reducing Bangladesh to 53/7 and putting the lid on the scoring. Sumaiya Akter was the loner who fought till the end and helped Bangladesh to play all the allotted overs.

With the spinners taking on in tandem, they further stemmed the flow of runs and trying to get out of the cage, the batters tried a few shots to up the ante but kept losing wickets regularly. Bangladesh's cause wasn't helped by some ordinary running between the wickets either. However, things settled up a bit for Bangladesh on the arrival of their skipper Sumaiya Akter. She not only brought in the calm in between but also knocked around and kept the scorecard ticking. Jannatul Maoua played a good second-fiddle to her. This resulted in Bangladesh scoring 34 runs in the mid-overs, in that phase 8 overs, but more importantly, without losing any wickets.

Bangladesh showed some intent right away, but that proved to be costly as the urgency resulted in a fall of three quick wickets. The surface offered good movement and bounce to which both Indian seamers bowled according to the conditions, not allowing them to free their arms. As a result, with the top three already back in the hut, Bangladesh could only manage 16/3 in the first six overs.

A job well done by the girls in blue with the ball. India maintains their dominance with the ball and they have managed to restrict their opposition below triple digits yet again. Surprisingly, this is the highest number of India Women Under-19 has conceded in this tournament so far. Also, this is the lowest score for Bangladesh Women Under-19 while batting first in this World Cup. But, they did bat for all the 20 overs, thanks to a calm innings from their skipper, which, they could take as a positive.
