Celtic on Thursday announced the signing of 20-year-old Australian international midfielder Tom Rogic on a four-and-a-half-year contract, pending a work permit.
"The club can confirm an application will be made to the appropriate authorities in the next couple of days," Celtic said in a statement.
Rogic arrives from A-League club Central Coast Mariners, with whom he scored five goals in 24 appearances.
He is thought to have cost Celtic around £400,000 ($640,000, 480,000 euros) and was reported to have also attracted attention from Premier League clubs Fulham, Reading and Queens Park Rangers.
Rogic is Celtic's second signing of the January transfer window, after Israeli defender Rami Gerhson arrived on loan from Belgian outfit Standard Liege.
