Right then, that is it from the T20I series and it is India who win the series 2-1 and skipper Rohit Sharma celebrates along with his teammates and they pose for a group photo as well. The three-match ODI series is up next and England have a bit of momentum with them. The first ODI will be played at the Kennington Oval in London on Tuesday, the 12th of July. That game begins at 5.30 pm IST (12 pm GMT) but our build-up will begin much sooner. Do join us then, take care and goodbye!
Rohit Sharma, the captain of India says that he thought it was a fantastic chase and even though they fell short, the fight shown by SKY was amazing. Adds that he has watched Suryakumar Yadav for a while now and he loves this format, is very unorthodox and keeps up the tempo. It was important for them to get him into the squad and he has been brilliant. Reckons that there were some places they would have liked to execute better with the ball but England played well. Mentions they bowled well in the Powerplay but the English batters stitched together a good partnership after that and they back themselves to chase any target but it wasn't meant to be. Ends by saying that they are playing good cricket and want to continue playing good cricket and they want to get better with every game. Says it was a great learning curve for them and they need to know how to bat under different circumstances so these types of games are very important.
English skipper, Jos Buttler says it was a fantastic game! He is pleased to win it. Adds Suryakumar Yadav's innings was brilliant. Mentions Reece Topley, Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan were very good. Credit to Moeen Ali to bowl the second last over, he showed great character. Adds they are blessed with the number of all-rounders they have.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been adjudged as the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his brilliant bowling display in the first couple of games.
Reece Topley (4-0-22-3) is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his sensational bowling on a belter of a pitch. Topley says that he is pretty happy to pick up the award when there were some great knocks. Adds that it is about isolating the balls and come up with a plan to either restrict scoring or be aggressive from the start. Mentions that they got the early wickets and it was a brilliant knock from Suryakumar Yadav but they believed that they were always one wicket away from snatching victory. Mentions that Yadav's innings was incredible and he hadn't seen shots like that. Ends by saying that he has had a great start to the white-ball summer and hopes to continue the same.
The presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, a really good effort from Dawid Malan and support from the other batters saw England get to well over 200. They made quick work of the Indian top-order but Suryakumar Yadav played an innings of a lifetime. He got India back into the game but needed support from the others which he did not receive. However, he is the reason why India got so close to the target. In the end, England had enough runs on the board and have got the win that halts Rohit Sharma's winning streak. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony.
The England bowlers bowled well to every batter of India apart from Suryakumar Yadav. They really struggled to get it right to him and he took advantage of that. Especially the spinners who were taken to the cleaners. However, the quicks, the likes of Richard Gleeson, David Willey and especially Reece Topley had really good figures and that is what helped England win the game.
What a game of cricket that was in the end! Suryakumar Yadav almost pulled off the impossible. This innings was all about him. He walked out when India were two down for not a lot, Rohit Sharma also fell soon after he came out to bat. Suryakumar Yadav though batted brilliantly. Shreyas Iyer first gave good support to him. The two added over 120 runs with Yadav scoring most of the runs. Iyer and Karthik fell at crucial times but Yadav stayed there, got to his ton and made his side believe. The task was a mammoth one where they needed over 40 in the last 2. Yadav did strike a few to begin the penultimate but once he fell, the game was done.
19.6 overs (0 Run) OUT! CLEANED UP! A fabulous delivery to finish off the game by Chris Jordan! This is a pacy yorker, tailing into the off pole. Ravi Bishnoi makes a bit of room looking to cover drive but is undone by raw pace. The ball goes on to hit the base of off stump and England win by 17 runs!
19.5 overs (2 Runs) Fullish delivery, around off, Ravi Bishnoi thrashes it through the cover region for a couple of runs.
19.4 overs (0 Run) OUT! CAUGHT! Chris Jordan gets a wicket, his first of the game and India lose their eight. This is very full and on middle, Harshal Patel shuffles across the stumps, trying to scoop it behind but ends up chipping it towards short fine leg. Richard Gleeson over there takes a simple catch and England will not be whitewashed.
19.3 overs (0 Run) Excellent bowling from Chris Jordan and that should be it! Gets in the yorker at the toes, at good pace too and there's nothing Harshal Patel can do about it other than keep it out.
19.2 overs (0 Run) Full and on the pads, this is clipped away to the man at deep square leg and Harshal Patel denies the run.
19.1 overs (1 Run) Full and straight, this is drilled down to long on for a single.
18.6 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! A boundary to end the over and there might still be a chance of a turnaround, a slight chance that is. Around middle, this is swept up and over square leg and the ball runs away into the fence. 21 needed now off 6 balls. With the new rules in place, England are over the time limit and they will have one less fielder outside the 30-yard circle.
18.5 overs (0 Run) OUT! TAKEN! Moeen Ali does have the last laugh and might have just sealed the game for his team. For the first time in this over, Ali does get it full and wide but inside the tramline. At this point Suryakumar Yadav has to go after every delivery and does so but mistimes it badly. The ball is lofted off the toe end of the bat and Philip Salt races in from the long off fence to take a good diving catch. End of a sensational innings from SKY, but it is England who are heading towards victory at the moment.
18.4 overs (0 Run) Quicker and flatter, around off, SKY looks to get inside the line of the ball and paddle it fine but finds the man at short fine leg.
18.3 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Suryakumar Yadav is just making it look so easy. Short and wide, this is slapped away off the back foot through the point region for a boundary.
18.3 overs (1 Run) WIDE! Fuller and wider, Yadav looks to cut but leaves it at the last moment and a wide is called.
18.2 overs (6 Runs) SIX! A huge gamble to bowl the off-spinner in the penultimate over and it isn't paying off for England so far. Tossed up, right in the slot and on middle, Yadav extends his arms and thumps it over the long on fence for a biggie. 30 needed now off 10 balls.
18.1 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Goes full and wide again, Suryakumar Yadav goes after it but ends up slicing it over backward point for a much-needed boundary.
18.1 overs (1 Run) WIDE! Moeen Ali tries to bowl quick and wide but spills it beyond the tramline, SKY misses the cut and a wide is called.
17.6 overs (1 Run) Just a single to end an excellent over by Richard Gleeson. Full and straight again, SKY walks across and clips it towards short fine leg for a quick single. 41 needed now off just 12 deliveries.
17.5 overs (1 Run) Misses his mark this time does Gleeson and serves a full toss on middle. Harshal hits it back past the bowler and down to long off for just a single.
17.4 overs (0 Run) Full and straight, Harshal Patel plays it towards extra cover and the batter do not go for the risky single.
17.3 overs (0 Run) OUT! LBW! Richard Gleeson gets in the full ball on leg stump. Ravindra Jadeja tries to have a swipe across the line but misses and gets pinged in front. Huge appeal for lbw and it is given! Ravindra Jadeja reviews it right away though. Was there an inside edge on it? The third umpire checks UltraEdge and finds no bat on it. Ball Tracking goes on to show three reds and the on-field decision will stay. Gleeson gets another timely wicket for England and Suryakumar Yadav is running out of partners. Harshal Patel is the new man in.
17.2 overs (6 Runs) SIX! BANG! A juicy full toss from Richard Gleeson, around off and Ravindra Jadeja just holds his shape to time it to perfection. The ball goes over the long off fence and it is a maximum. 43 needed now off 16.
17.1 overs (0 Run) Very full and straight, Jadeja bunts it back to the bowler.
16.6 overs (1 Run) Full and angled into the pads, Jadeja gets an inside edge down to short fine leg for a quick single.
16.5 overs (0 Run) OUT! LBW! Excellent review from the English skipper and David Willey provides a crucial breakthrough. This is on a fuller length, around leg stump and going across the right-hander. Dinesh Karthik walks right across his stumps and tries to flick it over short fine leg but misses and gets rapped on the pads. There is a huge appeal from the bowler but seems to have pitched outside leg. Thre review is taken and there's no spike on UltraEdge. Ball Tracking shows that it is pitching in line and going on to hit the middle of middle stump. 50 needed now off 19 balls. Ravindra Jadeja is the new man at the crease.
Appeal for LBW! The umpire does not agree but England review. Where it pitches could be the real question.
16.4 overs (1 Run) Full and straight, this is lofted down to long on for a run.
16.3 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Magnificent is the word! What a knock this has been from Suryakumar Yadav, shots all around the ground and that too under tremendous pressure, take a bow son. This is full and wide, a low full toss, SKY opens the face of his blade and dissects the fielders at backward point and short third man to pick up a boundary.
16.2 overs (1 Run) On the shorter side and around off, Karthik hangs back and pulls it hard towards deep mid-wicket for just a single.
16.2 overs (1 Run) WIDE! Willey goes for the wide yorker but misses his mark and a wide is called.
16.1 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Hammered! Willey goes full and wide, but slower in pace. Karthik picks it up and then just clears wide mid off with ease to collect a boundary.
15.6 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! With just a single in the over, Suryakumar Yadav does get an important boundary for his side off the final delivery. Shorter and wider, SKY backs away and then just opens the face of the bat to slice it away into the fence behind point. 61 needed now off 24 balls.
15.5 overs (1 Run) Eventually, Karthik does get off the mark! Back of a length and around off, Karthik guides it down to third man for a single.
15.4 overs (0 Run) Short of a length and on off stump, Dinesh Karthik looks to pull but mistimes it badly towards mid on. This over is turning the tide back in England's favour.
15.3 overs (0 Run) Just a tad bit short and on a right line around the off pole. Karthik tries to play it off the back foot but gets beaten once again.
15.2 overs (0 Run) On a good length and slanted across the off stump, Dinesh Karthik has a little dab at it but gets beaten past the outside edge.
15.1 overs (0 Run) OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! England desperately needed a wicket and they have got one. This is banged in short and around leg stump. Shreyas Iyer backs away trying to cut the short ball instead of pulling and ends up getting a bottom edge on it. Jos Buttler takes a good catch in front of him and Reece Topley's excellent outing with the ball continues, he's got three now. Iyer departs after a supporting knock.
