IPL franchises owners have bought all six teams in South Africa's new T20 league which is scheduled to begin in January 2023. The league will be headed by Greame Smith as commissioner. Cape Town has been bought by Reliance Industries which owns Mumbai Indians. The League is likely to allow 4 international players in the playing eleven with the player salary cap at $1.5 million. What does it mean for South Africa cricket? Will the Indian players participate in the league? Given the IPL owners' involvement in the league, will it make the tournament financially viable?
