The Black Caps can be proud of their summer season with a series win against the West Indies and a drawn series against the Australians but win against India will take their success ride to great heights, feels former New Zealand pacer Dion Nash.
"If we can really go toe-to-toe with these guys, we can finish the summer in great stead," Nash, who is also one of the national selectors, said.
Nash is confident that his team has the required wherewithal to upstage a rampaging Indian team.
"I certainly think we can do that and I know the boys are all up for it," Nash said.
However, he was honest in admitting that challenging and performing against the current Indian side is not a stroll in the park.
"This series will hold a completely new set of challenges from the two series we've already had. It's an exciting series and also one I think we must front up and perform in," Nash told 'Sunday Times'.
The five-match one-day series between the two countries will begin from March 3 after playing two Twenty20 matches.
