Rashid Khan remembered his late father and mother in an emotional message he posted on social media. "I truly never learned what the words I Miss You were until I reached for my Mom and Dad's hand and it wasn't there," said Rashid in a tweet. Rashid lost his father in December 2018 and lost his mother in June 2020. Rashid had posted on Twitter when his father had died more than two years ago. "Today I lost the most important person in my life, father-the everlasting. Now I know why you always asked me to be strong, because you knew that today I would need the strength to bear your loss. Will be always in my I miss you," Rashid had tweeted.
The 22-year-old has been one of the key players for Afghanistan across formats and he was recently named in the ICC T20I Team of the Decade.
Rashid also won the ICC Men's T20I Player of the Decade award and tweeted to thank his fans for their love and support.
"So great full to be named in t20 decade team and being the t20 decade bowler. Thanks everyone for you love and support throughout my career so far. Hopefully will have some more good memories and performances in future INSHALLAH LOVE YOU ALL," Rashid tweeted.
Rashid has played 48 T20Is and has 89 wickets to his credit at a miserly average of 12.62 and an economy rate of 6.14 runs per over.
Rashid played for SunRisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League 2020 where he returned 20 wickets from 16 matches.
