APS bowlers struck quick blows with two wickets falling in quick succession.

Sivaramakrishnan Subramaniam had lost his fellow opener and Ganga Sridhar at number three but managed to stitch together the innings well.

APS bowlers however kept a tight leash with boundaries not coming as frequently as Madras would have hoped.

Madras however did manage to rotate the strike and eventually managed to rake in 148 runs after losing 6 wickets at a run-rate of 7.4 in 20 overs.

The turnout was fairly decent at the Jamia ground and they expected a close encounter. It was not exactly going to turn out that way.
