Johnson had announced in early in the day that he would quit international cricket after the Perth Test.

The highest point in his career would be his 37 wickets in 5 Tests during the 2013-14 Ashes series.

Johnson did not have a good outing in the first innings but he did take 2 wickets on the final day to show one last glimpse of his class.

He leaves a legacy for the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood to carry on.

He got a chance to wield the willow one last time too as he hit 29 to help Australia score 385/7.
