Australia Star Set To Break 96-Year-Old Record
December 21, 2024 17:57
19-year-old opening batter Sam Konstas will break a nearly 100-year-old record if he plays the Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.
Zoom
Sam Konstas is favourite to open the batting for Australia in the fourth Test in Melbourne, which would see him break a big record.
Zoom
Konstas would become the owner of a record that hasn't been touched since the 1928/29 season.
Zoom
If Konstas plays the Boxing Day Test, he will become the youngest Australian opener at the age of 19 years and 85 days.
Zoom
He will break the record of Archibald Jackson, who debuted for Australia in 1929 at the age of 19 years, 149 days, playing alongside Don Bradman.
Zoom
Konstas replaced Nathan McSweeney in the Australia squad for the final two Tests.
