Home to the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, the historic Trent Bridge was established in 1841 and the first Test match was played in 1899. It hosted its first One-day International match in 1974 and since then has been host to World Cup venues in 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 editions.
Host nation England has a good record at this venue. They won both their World Cup matches here against New Zealand in 1975 and Zimbabwe in 1999. ODI’s highest team total i.e. 481/6 were made at this venue by England against Australia in 2018. They bettered their own record of 444/3 against Pakistan which they made in 2016.
Cricket fans can reach Trent Bridge easily as it is located one mile from the Nottingham railway station. Fans can also take the local bus services and tram network that connects the city from north to south. The ICC is organising an official walking route between Nottingham station and Trent Bridge.
