Sheikhpura stadium in Pakistan was first used as a Test match venue on 17 October 1996 This was followed by another test exactly a year later- between Pakistan and South Africa. It is yet another multi-use stadium in Pakistan. It holds the capacity for 15000 spectators and legendary cricketer like Wasim Akram has scored his highest Test score at this venue. There is also a small hockey stadium, a public park, a gymnasium, electronic scoreboard, and stadium shopping centre in the neighbouring spots. The Hockey Stadium was named after a great Hockey Player Saeed Anwar Malik, who played 3 Olympics for Pakistan. The first one-day international at the Sheikhupura Stadium was played on November 22nd, 1998. It was played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, which the former won comfortably. Pakistani Pacers like Aaqib Javed, Mohammad Asif and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan have played most of the domestic matches at this venue.
