About Owen Delany Park, Taupo
The Owen Delany Park has not yet hosted its First Test Match and is one of more recent stadium to come up in New Zealand. Situated in New Zealand near Lake Taupo in Taupo, the stadium has two ends, the North End and the Lake Taupo End. The first One Day International was played between New Zealand and India here in 1999 in which the home team beat the visitors by 5 wickets. The ground is Taupo's largest sports ground. The club is named in memory of Owen Delany whose contribution to the ground and New Zealand's various sporting events are credit-worthy. Other than the usual cricket and football, the club is used for netball, archery, athletics, cycling, orienteering and dog obedience.
