About Nairobi Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi
With a capacity of 7,000 it hosted its first ODI between Kenya and Sri Lanka on September 28, 1996. Eleven years later it made its T20 debut as well when Kenya played against Bangladesh on September 1, 2007. One of the main cricket venue in the country, and the biggest ground in Kenya, it is home to one of Kenya's oldest and most influential clubs, the Gymkhana. It is situated 5500 feet above sea level making it the highest ground in Kenya. It was the grants provided by the ICC that helped Kenya host the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy. A mixture of grass banking and wooden stands, with a media centre, it provides good accommodation to players and the public.
