Manuka Oval, Canberra

With Australia boasting of some of the biggest names in cricket stadiums, this might sound a complete misfit. The Manuka Oval is most famous for the annual Prime Minister’s XI cricket match and occasional AFL games are the highlight with the ground often reaching its 15,000 capacity and its Jack Fingleton scorecard. This was originally the scoreboard at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, recycled when the MCG installed its first electronic board in the early 1980’s. It was relocated to Manuka and named after the late Australian opening batsman who made his career as a political journalist in the corridors of Parliament House, just a few kilometres away. This stadium doesn’t host too many Tests and ODI matches. It hosted its first ODI between South Africa and Zimbabwe on March 10, 1992
