About Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Hyderabad
Formerly known as Fateh Maidan, it was named after Lal Bahadur Shastri when he became the Prime Minister of India in 1964. One of India’s premier storied stadiums, it hosted its first test way back in November 1955 between India and New Zealand. And the first ODI was played between India and Pakistan on September 10, 1983. As a domestic venue, it has given Indian cricket some of the titans of the game of cricket, such as Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, ML Jaisimha, Mohammad Azharuddin and VVS Laxman.
