About Boland Park, Paarl

Boland Bank Park is a cricket stadium in Paarl, South Africa. It has good facilities and the ground also has floodlights. It has two famous ends name Riebeeck Kelders and Stables Ends. Boland Bank Park's introduction to one-day international cricket was a memorable one. Zimbabwe and India met at the ground on 27 January 1997, with the match, ending in a dramatic tie. Surrounded beautiful mountains and trees, it offers spectators lovely grassed embankments to relax on while taking in a match. Back in 2001 the ground was home to one of the biggest turnarounds the game of cricket has seen. India thrashed Kenya by 186 runs after tallying a massive 351 for 3, led by 111 from Sourav Ganguly and 146 from Sachin Tendulkar. A week prior to that, the Kenyans had crushed India by 70 runs after bowling them out for just 176. Boland Bank Park hosted three matches during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. It hasn't hosted a Test match as yet. At this very venue, Wasim Akram became the first bowler to scalp 500 ODI wickets in a World Cup game against Netherlands.
