There is the victory for Ding Liren against D Gukesh in the 12th game. The contest has revived with the scores getting tied at 6-6. Ding dominated the match.

This looks like Ding Liren's game. He is on the verge of winning this contest with a dominating show against Gukesh. Both the players are under four minutes.

OHHHH!!! Shocking turns of events are taking place in Singapore now as India's D Gukesh is now showing his cautiousness against Ding Liren. The match which began with Gukesh playing quick moves, has now transformed into something different. Gukesh spends a whopping total of 26 minutes to respond to DIng Liren's 17th move. Gukesh moves Bg6. 

WOWWW!!!! Ding Liren is not taking any risks at this moment of the game. Already trailing 5-6 in the 14-match contest, Liren needs to take step carefully. Now, he spends a total of 16 minutes to take his 17th move. He moves Qd2 as his 17th move. Gukesh is yet to give a response to this move of Ding Liren. 

Both D Gukesh and Ding Liren are taking their time and planning their next move. So far, 16 moves have been taken and both the stars are putting a tough fight. In the latest move, Ding moves Rad1 while Gukesh moves Nd7.

Phew!!! That was exhausting as the defending Ding Liren is spending a lot of time in thinking is every move. Well, it's quite understandable as chess requires a lot of thinking and playing at the World Chess Championship cannot be taken lightly. After spending 17 minutes in deep thinking, Liren finally moves a3 as his 11th move. In response, D Gukesh moves a5 in two minutes. 

After 15 minutes of deep thinking, D Gukesh finally takes his 10th move. In response of Ding Liren's Re1, Gukesh moves H6. This game is getting better and better with every passing move as both the players are being very cautious. 

In a sudden turn of events, we can see that the young Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh has gone into deep thinking. After Ding Liren takes Re1 as his 10th moves, Gukesh looks clueless. So far, he has spent around 12 minutes in taking his next step. 

In his ninth move, Ding Liren moves his knight 9.NC3. However, he receives a quick response from D Gukesh. The Indian Grandmaster then takes O-O as his next move. Quick thinking from Gukesh. 

WOW!!! The Game No- 12 between D Gukesh and Ding Liren is turning out to be an interesting one. Both the players are giving a good competition to each other. After the first nine moves, the accuracy in the game is 99.6. 

This game is definitely giving a lot of headache to the defending champion Ding Liren. He is consuming a lot of time, while on the other hand, Gukesh seems to be playing with a calm mind. So far, Liren has spent 27 minutes in his eight moves while Gukesh has spent only three minutes.

"Working with Paddy (Upton) has been super enjoyable and instructive for me and considering the height of the World Championship, there are more emotional struggles than any other tournament. We have had a lot of conversations. I learned a lot. He said a lot of things that have helped me in many of the games. Because Whenever you lose, you also lose your focus or you’ll get emotional but you should come back to the game and play the best move. And it’s not always easy to do, so his teachings have really helped me a lot."

"After Game 1, I had to show mental resistance because obviously it wasn't a pleasant thing to lose the first game of the World Championship, but then once I hit back, I've started to play good chess," said Gukesh during the press conference.

Magnus Carlsen, who has been a keen observer of the game, expects Liren to fight back today. He has categorised this game a 'must win' for the Chinese.

The Norwegian also gave him a piece of advice. He said: "Just doing something social with his team. Just try and escape for a little bit."

Carlsen also shared his own experience from Championship matches. "I have only been down once... against Sergey Karjakin. Then my world was kind of rocky for two or three days. I don't envy Ding. There were four games left for me too. Its not easy for Ding."
