Haryana's Rajesh Kaliramana and Jhuma Khatun of West Bengal shattered national records to steal the limelight on the second day of the Reva National Youth Athletics Championship 2005 today. Kaliramana came up with a 2.08 metres effort in the boy's high jump at Sree Kanteerava stadium, obliterating his own 2.04 mark set in 2003. In the girls' 1500 metres, Jhuma clocked four minutes, 38.42 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 4:41.19 that stood in the name of S Gurnule of Maharashtra since January 1999. In another impressive performance, A Anitcham of Tamil Nadu equalled the national record in the girls' shot put.She recorded a distance of 12.27 metres, the same mark achieved by Seema Antil representing North Zone in 1999.
