Success came early for the visitors at the DY Patil stadium here after they were made to filed first by Yuvraj. Doug Bollinger struck early to remove Mohnish Mishra in the fourth over.

A dangerous Jesse Ryder too was sent back relatively early after he scored 19. Bollinger seemed to be on a roll early on in the Pune innings.

It was Yuvraj who anchored the innings for most parts of the Pune batting as the skipper hit 62 off 43 balls with four massive sixes.

The Pune skipper also smashed confident shots to the boundary as he played on both sides of the wicket to deal with the pressure applied by the Chennai spinners and pacers.

The other end of the crease however, did not see one single batsman hold on to provide Yuvraj with any kind of support. R Ashwin bowled a good spell to finish with a wicket and an economy rate of just over 7.

Despite some hits towards the end of the innings, courtesy Yuvraj Singh who remained un-beaten, Chennai was able to halt Pune on 141.

Pune bowlers were able to remove Miacheal Hussey early but it was all about an unrelenting Badrinath from then on.

He raced to 63 off 44 balls though his innings was a good example of a mature knock with the perfect mix of boundaries and sixes.

Badrinath was partnered well by Suresh Raina who himself made a 25-ball 34 with two sixes and a boundary.

Riding on the 65-run partnership, Chennai Super Kings sealed the match with eight wickets and three balls to spare.
