Brian Lara

After a rather unsuccessful stint with the rebel league, the Caribbean legend is trying his hands at the IPL. His batting prowess, his flamboyance and his style all suit the IPL flavour. Being one of the highest scorers in Tests and ODIs, many consider Lara greater than Sachin Tendulkar. And though he has not been actively playing cricket, the name Brian Charles Lara in itself is a bright prospect.

James Anderson:

James Anderson is England's premier pace bowler and his exploits in the Ashes went a long way in ending his team's dry run Down Under. Anderson's stock delivery is the outswinger to the right-hander and his ability to pick up quick wickets makes him an asset for any team.

Luke Wright

Tipped as the potential successor of Andrew Flintoff, this England all-rounder is up for the IPL auction for the first time. His exploits in the Twenty20 format are impressive. Apart from scoring big and quick runs, Wright adds new dimension to the attack with his pace bowling.

Callum Ferguson

Making his international debut in 2009 against New Zealand, Callum Ferguson started his career impressively. His consistency earned him a central contract from Cricket Australia. Scoring heavily in the domestic circuit for South Australia, Ferguson also swung his willow all around the park during the Champions League Twenty20. He had scored 200 runs in 5 matches at a blitzing rate.

Peter Siddle

Nicknamed Vicious, this Australian pacer justifies the name with his performance and on-field attitude. His Test performance his definitely better than his ODI and T20 show, Siddle remains a potent weapon in all three formats. And though he sustained a back injury early in his career, Siddle is one bowler who can rip the opposition apart when he fit and firing.

Brad Haddin

It's never an easy task to step into the shoes of a great but Brad Haddin has done it with fair amount of success when he took Adam Gilchrist's place after his retirement in the Australian squad. A safe pair of hands behind the wicket combined with great abilities with the bat down the order makes this keeper a great choice in the shorter versions of the game. In the recently concluded Ashes series, Haddin was one of the stand out performers for the beleaguered Australians.

Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladesh captain has been among the top all-rounders in the world in almost all forms of the game off late and has been a stand out performer for the minnows. His left arm spin is more than handy as we is capable of both picking up wickets as well as stemming the run flow. He may not be as explosive with the bat as many others but his ability keep his cool in demanding situations, especially during a chase is what makes him a reliable middle-order choice.

Jonathan Trott

Base Price: $200,000 The English No 3 has quickly established a name for himself in all formats ever since he made his debut against Australia in 2009. A great asset to his county side Warwickshire over the years, Trott is an aggressive batsman who loves to score all around the park.

Tamim Iqbal

Team: Bangladesh

Base Price: $100,000 The Bangladesh opener burst onto the international scene in grand style as he clobbered Indian bowlers all around the field to help his team score an upset win in the 2007 ICC World Cup. Since then, the left-hander has established his reputation as a firebrand opener who loves to take the attack to the opposition. An automatic choice for the openers' slot in the T20 format due to his style of batting, Tamim was chosen Wisden Player of the Year in 2010.

Michael Klinger

The South Australian Redbacks skipper came into the limelight during the Champions League T20 in South Africa last year. Klinger was one of the top grossers in the tournament taking his team to the final of the event almost single-handedly.
