India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in the 4th ODI and also won the series in the process. Riding high on Virat Kohli's brilliant century and Manoj Tiwary's four-for, Team India walked away with a comfortable win in 42.2 overs.

It was Sri Lanka who took the first honours after winning the toss and electing to bat. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga gave the Lankans a solid start. The pair added 91 before Dilshan was dismissed trying to pull one. Tharanga followed him soon.

Ashok Dinda, seen here with Virat Kohli, got India the first breakthrough when he dismissed Dilshan. India got regular Lankan wickets after that to keep the scoring in check.

Sri Lanka had another 50-run stand between Lahiru Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal before Chandimal was sent packing by Manoj Tiwary. Mahela Jayawardena followed his teammate into the dressing room in the very next over.

Lahiru Thirimanne fought hard in a crumbling middle-order to score 47 off 69 balls. He got out at the wrong time though, bowled by Ashwin.

For India, the unconventional and unheralded spinning duo of Virender Sehwag and Manoj Tiwary did the trick. Sehwag got the all important wicket of the Sri Lanka skipper and lead batsman, Mahela Jayawardena.

Manoj Tiwary though, playing his first match of the series, was the one who hogged the limelight on the day. He got Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera and Jeevan Mendis in his kitty. Dhoni's decision to give Rahul Sharma a rest probably worked wonders.

India did not have the most auspicious of starts, losing the wicket of Gautam Gambhir in the very first over when both the batsman and the team had not troubled the scorers.

Virender Sehwag looked to hit out and it seemed to work for a while. He scored 34 off 29 before holding out in yet another soft dismissal off the bowling of Angelo Mathews.

A lot was expected of Rohit Sharma, especially after Dhoni decided to drop Rahul Sharma and bring in Manoj Tiwary instead of dropping the out of form Sharma. He majorly disappointed yet again though, dismissed Lbw off Nuwan Pradeep. He managed just four.

Virat Kohli was his brilliant self. He batted sedately to begin with but gathered pace in the middle overs. Once the Delhi lad was joined in by Suresh Raina, after the dismissal of Manoj Tiwary, he played out of his skin. Kohli scored a brilliant 128 off 119 while Raina got 58 off 51.
